The promoter of the Chicago Sports Spectacular is bringing a local partner on board.
The company announced Wednesday that Schwartz Sports Memorabilia, based in Morton Grove, IL, has joined the CSS management team in a role that also includes an equity stake in the show.
CSS owner Mitch Adelstein and his staff are based in Florida and say they’re hoping that having a team in place locally will help grow the show, which takes place twice per year in March and November.
“Being local to the event, having over 20 years of industry experience and active involvement in the show for many years made this an easy decision.”

While attendees may not notice much difference, Schwartz is tasked with working behind the scenes to improve the overall experience.
Adelstein and Brian Schwartz, the President/CEO of Schwartz Sports, once worked together under the Dreams, Inc umbrella as part of Mounted Memories. They say their goal is to increase attendance, corporate and dealer involvement and the quality of the autograph lineup.
“I’m excited to officially be part of the show, having been involved in some capacity for nearly 20 years,” Schwartz stated. “By moving some of the pre-show planning to Chicago, it will allow for more last minute adjustments, more hands-on planning with the convention center and make use of your synergies to streamline and simplify every aspect of the show-going process for fans, from ordering pre-show to day of show operations.”
The next event is set for March 18-20 at the Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL. Plans are underway for a summer show to take place the weekend of June 18 with an initial autograph lineup to be announced during the March show.
