Five companies whose business is centered about sports cards were among the top 21 eBay sellers in the world, based on feedback, as 2024 got underway.
COMC, DCSportscards, Burbank Sportscards Greg Morris Cards and Probstein123 all received between 18,000 and 50,000 feedback ratings in the last 30 days. The numbers don’t include buyers who didn’t leave a rating.
According to the data compiled by Marketplace Pulse, COMC had the fifth highest selling volume of eBay sellers worldwide. Overall, the current worldwide top 100 list includes more than three dozen U.S. sellers, nine of which are primarily accounts devoted to sports cards–certainly evidence that there’s still a strong appetite for cards.
Virginia-based DC Sportscards ranked eighth among worldwide sellers with more than 36,000 feedback ratings in the 30-day period while Southern California-based Burbank was 13th, registering over 24,000.
Four of the five sports sellers have large inventories of single cards that are typically offered for straight sale.
While the rankings were slightly different from our last check of top sellers last fall, all five have consistently ranked among the largest volume accounts of any kind.
eBay shows 5.7 million items sold by COMC in the eight years the company has cross-listed consignors’ items on eBay. Greg Morris Cards’ account shows the highest lifetime volume of items sold at 7.1 million since 2002. Burbank Sportscards has 6.4 million sold listings since 2005.
Leading the overall top 100 list was Second Sale, a buyer and seller of used books based in Illinois that has sold more than 23 million items lifetime.
