The Industry Summit, an annual gathering of hobby shops, card companies, distributors and other sports collectible businesses is leaving Las Vegas.
A possible move had been discussed at last year’s gathering but Thursday morning’s announcement also included a change in dates. Typically held early in the spring, the 2018 Summit has been scheduled for February 25-28 at Beckett’s corporate headquarters in Dallas.
Bill Sutherland, Beckett’s VP of Data Acquisitions and Ray Schulte, CEO / President of Schulte Sports Marketing & PR, Inc. will team up to manage and co-host the event.
“The Industry Summit is considered the essential event for our collectible industry’s leading retailers, manufacturers, licensors and service providers.” said Kevin Isaacson, VP Beckett Media Sales and Marketing. “With the appointment of Bill Sutherland and Ray Schulte as co-host I’m excited and confident the Summit will continue to thrive and evolve for many years to come.”
While most of the recent events were held in Las Vegas, the Summit originated over 30 years ago as the “Hawaii Trade Conference” and has been held there several times as well as in Florida and Arizona.
The conference includes presentations, discussions, Q&A sessions, announcements and informal gatherings. It is usually attended by a few hundred hobby shop owners from the U.S. and Canada.
“The Industry Summit provides meaningful business-to-business (B2B) value benefiting our collectible industry partners.” said Sutherland in the news release. “I’m looking forward to working with many of the collectible industry senior executive and industry leaders and co-hosting the event in Dallas with Ray Schulte. He brings a diversified collectible experience and meaningful perspective concerning the collectible industry.”
Corporate sponsorship packets and early bird registration for retailers and service providers can be obtained by contacting Sutherland at[email protected] and/or Schulte at [email protected].
