Topps’ NIL deals with numerous college athletes has led to its first ever Bowman U March Madness product. Developed through its NOW platform and licensed by the NCAA, the online offering debuted Monday.
Topps is offering packs of eight cards, with one guaranteed autograph from a list that includes men’s Player of the Year Zach Edey of Purdue and women’s Player of the Year Caitlin Clark.
Packs contain the auto, along with six base cards and a parallel numbered to 99 or less for $139.99. They’re available until Thursday via this page on Topps’ website. Dual autograph cards are found in every ten packs.
The cards include many of the high-profile players in college basketball but it’s a short list, with only 20 signed on to appear. The full athlete list Bowman U NOW March Madness includes:
Men’s: Reed Sheppard (Kentucky), Tristen Newton (UConn), Rob Dillingham (Kentucky), Cody Williams (Colorado), Dalton Knecht (Tennessee), Zach Edey (Purdue), Kyle Filipowski (Duke), Stephon Castle (UConn), Kevin McCullar Jr. (Kansas), Armando Bacot (UNC).
Women’s: Caitlin Clark (Iowa), Cameron Brink (Stanford), Aaliyah Edwards (UConn), Angel Reese (LSU), Georgia Amoore (Virginia Tech), Mikaylah Williams (LSU), Rickea Jackson (Tennessee), Hailey Van Lith (LSU), Hannah Hidalgo (Notre Dame), Paige Bueckers (UConn).
Dual autographs include Clark/Edey, Clark/Angel Reese, Reese/Hailey Van Lith and Reed Sheppard/Rob Dillingham.
Topps will only be able to produce cards of Clark until April 1 when her new trading card exclusive with Panini America takes effect.
Topps’ licensing deal with the NCAA gives it the right to use the March Madness logo and branding. Topps indicated it will be working with the NCAA on future projects.
Topps has launched more than 120 Bowman U cards through its NOW platform this season, including 61 cards featuring college basketball players such as Clark, who has had 13 different cards (the most of any college student-athlete). College players have also appeared in traditional packs through Topps’ Bowman University line for the past two years.
