If there’s a Wayne Gretzky game-worn jersey that isn’t in one Hall of Fame or another, chances are it’s in Shawn Chaulk’s collection.
The Canadian man has been at it for 30 years, buying, trading and begging for Gretzky memorabilia.
He claims he has the biggest collection of Wayne Gretzky memorabilia in the world and few would argue. Even the Great One himself is impressed by what the native Newfoundlander as gathered over the last two decades. There are dozens of sticks and jerseys, autographs and other items from the Hall of Famer’s long career.
“There is no other collection out there that would even come close,” the 44-year-old Chaulk says of his impressive display, which also includes game used items from other past NHL stars who have become his friends over the years. Not long ago, Gretzky himself got to tour the collection and seemed interested in how his biggest fan accumulated all of his stuff.
Chaulk even owns one of Gretzky’s old cars, but it’s a different type of experience that stands out more than any other according to this story –and photo gallery—in The Telegram.
