For the second straight year, Topps used New Year’s Day for a social media fest centered around 1 of 1 trading cards (1/1, get it?). The company encourages customers, partner athletes and hobby businesses to post their serial numbered 1 of 1 cards with the hashtag #1of1Day.
Thanks to athletes like Tom Brady, Lewis Hamilton, Mike Trout and Antoine Griezmann, the posts reached over 500 million people around the globe.

It’s the second 1-of-1 Ruth card pulled at the store in the last four years.

The annual NHL Winter Classic hadn’t even started yet, but you could already place a bid on game-worn jerseys four days ahead of the face-off.
NHL Auctions is offering jerseys worn by the New York Rangers and Florida Panthers at Loan Depot Park in Miami.
The jerseys were to be collected directly from the team’s locker room by Fanatics Authentic in conjunction with the NHL and comes with an individually numbered, tamper-evident hologram that can be verified online.
The auctions run through Jan. 19. Proceeds from some jersey sales will be donated to the National Hockey League Foundation.
