Major League Baseball Authenticators have been busy in every ballpark, virtually cornering the market on game-used goods.
Once upon a time a cracked bat went into the garbage. Now, it gets a hologram. Virtually very scrap of game-used baseball memorabilia is now catalogued and eventually sold.
