Police in Ohio may be close to solving a theft case involving over $400,000 worth of merchandise, including sports cards and memorabilia stolen from a business last year.
The Miami Township Police Department has been investigating the reported theft at a card shop located inside Park Grille and Bar.
Investigators say the theft was reported in 2025 but it wasn’t until last week that a search warrant was executed at a house in Washington Township. TV stations on scene that day showed numerous boxes and cases with card company labels on them being taken out of the home and put into police vehicles.
The incident involves an estimated loss of approximately $416,000 in merchandise but it’s not known exactly what was reported missing. Cardboard storage boxes and cases with Panini tape on them were among the items officers carted away last week.
On Wednesday, police say they learned a sports card believed to be connected to the case was sold in New Jersey for approximately $9,000.
No arrests have been made as of yet.
