Some high-end Michael Jordan cards and even one massive collection have arrived on eBay, just ahead of the final two episodes of “The Last Dance” on ESPN.
It’s no secret now that Jordan cards have been the hobby’s hottest, with prices for nearly everything soaring to uncharted territory. Even relatively common base cards from the early 1990s are generating interest from new or re-engaged collectors who have entered the hobby.
We took you inside some of the numbers for Jordan sales on eBay last week. Here are a few more stats:
- Following the April 19 release of The Last Dance, searches for MJ trading cards spiked 285% over the same week the prior month.
- Over the past 10 years, more than 17.2 million MJ items have been sold on the eBay platform.
- An average of 146 pieces of MJ merchandise have been sold on the marketplace per hour.
Some long-time, dedicated hobbyists have put entire Jordan collections up for sale, like this one— complete with original Star Company bagged sets, oddball issues and collectible items, all 2,000+ items chronicled and showcased via Google Drive and YouTube.

Some of those above are part of a high-value auction of more than 400 graded Jordan cards in a two-part event just underway that’s being sponsored by eBay with some help from ESPN. Included are multiple high-grade Fleer and Star Company Jordan cards The first runs from May 11-21 and the second from May 21-31.
