He’s the early favorite to capture his third NBA MVP award and is about to become the NBA’s all-time leader in three pointers made. The Warriors are again a threat to win the championship, too. Steph Curry’s rookie cards have been heating up over the last couple of months and there’s a big one up for grabs through Heritage Auctions right now.
A PSA 10 copy of Curry’s 2009-10 Topps Chrome rookie card kicks off the company’s December Sports Showcase Auction. Bidding is expected to push past $40,000 by the end of bidding late next week.
Tom Brady is another current icon with a stack of material in the auction. In addition to some high-grade Bowman rookie cards, the auction includes a couple of key Brady tickets: a full one from his college football debut at Michigan in 1996 and another from the first NFL game in which he saw action 20 years ago. The latter, graded EX 5, is expected to push into five figures.
There’s also a full ticket from LeBron James’ NBA debut in 2003 that’s graded PSA 6 and has already blown past the pre-sale estimate to reach $16,000 in the first couple of weeks. Tickets from the 1907 and 1908 World Series and aother from the 1926 dedication of Soldier Field in Chicago are also part of the online catalog.
In all, over 700 lots are up for grabs.
Other auction highlights include a near set of 1909-1913 Sporting News Supplements, multiple Michael Jordan Fleer rookie cards and a complete Fleer set, a complete, bagged 1984-85 Star Company Bulls set with a Jordan XRC; a 1976 Topps Football cello box, a pair of 1956 Topps Baseball sets, a 1966-67 Topps Hockey set and dozens of vintage and modern rookie cards.
The auction is set to close December 18.
