2025 Topps Series 2 Baseball now has a release date.
The second group of 350 cards in the annual flagship base set will arrive in boxes on June 11.
Shohei Ohtani will appear on the cover of Series 2 packaging, which will come in a few different formats. He signed an exclusive trading card deal with Topps last year. As always, there will be a multitude of ways to buy the product.
- Hobby boxes will carry 20 packs, with 12 cards per pack and one autograph or relic card per box. 1/1 hand-drawn sketch cards of current and former greats and autographed game-used patch cards numbered to 50 will be exclusive to that configuration.
- Hobby Jumbo boxes will have 10 packs with 40 cards per pack. Jumbos will have an autograph and two relic cards.
- Mega boxes will have 16 packs of 14 cards with no guaranteed hits but will have exclusive foilboard inserts.
- Value (Blaster) boxes with seven packs and 12 cards per back are on the docket as well, with the Fanatics exclusive blasters also returning.
The 350-card base set will include players who weren’t part of the Series 1 checklist, including Mets star Juan Soto. Topps has indicated that collectors who were disappointed with the absence of black bordered parallels in Series 1 will get their wish with Series 2.
Golden Mirror image variations continue in Series 2 with all 350 cards having this parallel version that includes a gold foil back.
In addition to the standard autograph cards (Real One Autographs), debuting in Series 2 are City Connect Swatch Collection Autograph Cards featuring game-used memorabilia and the all-new Major League Material dual autograph cards, sequentially numbered to 50 or less.
World Champion Autographs featuring the 2024 Dodgers will be among the possible signed cards in 2025 Series 2.
Heavy Lumber inserts feature 20 of the league’s best hitters on wood grained cards and are limited to 500 each.
Other inserts will include more 1990 throwbacks that align with the design from 35 years ago and a checklist that includes past and present stars and rookies.
OPS Leaders, which focus on advanced stats, the artsy Summer Superstars and Homefield Advantage are also in the insert lineup.
All Kings inserts will focus on the game’s best hitters past and present, while K Zone die-cuts are a short print insert, featuring top pitchers the game.
More details will be released closer to the June 11 release date.
The arrival of Series 2 will come four months after Topps kicked off the flagship set with 2025 Series 1 in February.
