The career scoring torch has been passed and now a couple of key items from the former NBA career scoring champ are on the auction block.
Goldin Auctions is offering the final final regular season game ball of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s career, used to score the last of his 38,387 career points. The current high bid is $100,000.
Also on the block is the ball used in the last game of his career—Game 4 of the 1989 NBA Finals against the Detroit Pistons in Los Angeles. The win gave the “Bad Boy” Pistons their first NBA title and closed the book on Abdul-Jabbar’s 20-year career.
LeBron James surpassed Abdul-Jabbar’s career points record earlier this month.

Joel Belfer, founder of the Mint Condition newsletter, has opened a new sports collectibles advisory business.
Belfer, who has had roles in both investment banking and private equity since graduating from the University of Michigan, is hoping to use his collectible and financial knowledge to assist collectors, collectible related businesses and startups.
His independent firm, called Sports Collectibles Advisory, will focus on several different areas for collectors, helping to correct what he calls “a massive inefficiency” in the market.
“People need better help managing their collections – organizing, researching, helping decide when and where to sell and for how much. Individuals looking to buy need help finding the best opportunities – based on data-driven research, which sport, player, or product could be a good buy and from where should I be buying?” he says via news release. He also hoping to assist individuals or families who need help in valuing and selling items they may have inherited or owned but don’t know where to turn.
He also thinks he can be of value on the corporate/business side.
“Startups and corporates need stronger support to continue growing and adapting in the everchanging collectibles landscape – go to-market and strategic assistance, fundraising and pitch deck creation, and financial and data analysis.”
