Steiner Sports says it paid Yadier Molina to sign autographs but the Cardinals’ catcher failed to complete the double play.
They’ve been waiting, but Steiner Sports says St. Louis Cardinals’ catcher Yadier Molina hasn’t followed through on a contract he signed to make public and private autograph appearances for the company.
According to the New York Daily News and TMZ.com, Molina failed to show when required and that forced Steiner to file a suit in Manhattan State Supreme Court.
According to the suit as reported, Molina took over $90,000 in upfront money to complete his signing arrangement, but hasn’t returned the money or completed the autograph signings.
TMZ reports that Steiner is seeking more than $175,000 after terminating the arrangement in July when it became obvious Molina wasn’t going to come through.
Molina is one-third of a trio of catching brothers that includes Bengie (Giants) and Jose (Yankees).
