The earliest known Wilt Chamberlain game jersey is on the auction block. This one dates to the 1957-58 season when he was a junior at Kansas. Chamberlain wore jersey number 12 during a portion of that season.
The durene pullover is at Goldin Auctions where it has a current high bid of $260,000.
SCP Auctions President David Kohler, who owns the world’s best collection of Lakers memorabilia, originally had Chamberlain sign the jersey in September of 1999, just a month before Chamberlain’s death at age 63.
The 1/1 Panini Flawless Triple Logoman LeBron James card has been bid up to $1.7 million with a week and a half left in the auction.
A copy of his 2003-04 Exquisite Rookie Patch Autograph has that one beat as of now at $1.75 million.
