A burglary at a Wichita sports bar that netted some valuable sports memorabilia isn’t solved yet, but some of the stolen goods have been recovered..
It took just a few minutes for Dave Chaffin to lose some of the better pieces in his collection of rare sports memorabilia.
Just after his Players sports bar in Wichita, Kansas closed July 29th, he was the victim of a break-in. Several high dollar items were taken including a pair of Babe Ruth autographed baseballs and a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card.
Championship rings were also among the items taken. Now, police say they’ve found some items but others–including the 52 Topps Mantle– are still missing.
An update from the Wichita Eagle.
