Game worn and game issued jerseys and shooting shirts and even the nets used in the two NBA games played in Mexico earlier this season are up for grabs at NBA Auctions.
The Brooklyn Nets played two games in Mexico City December 7 and 9, one against the Oklahoma City Thunder and the second against the Miami Heat.
Among the items in the first wave of Mexico game items being sold is the jersey worn by Russell Westbrook in the second half of the Thunder’s loss to the Nets. He played 35 minutes and registered a game-high 31 points with a team-high six assists and eight rebounds. The blue jersey, a Size 48+4 inches extra length, is registered into the NBA and MeiGray Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program. Westbrook’s name is written on the jersey tag.
Also on the block are jerseys worn by other members of the Thunder and Nets as well as several shooting shirts with the teams’ names in Spanish on the front that were worn in warmups.
The games culminated the 25th anniversary celebration of the first NBA game in Mexico and marked the 25th and 26th games in the country since 1992. The league has played more games in Mexico than any country outside the United States and Canada.
Bidding continues through February 15 at NBA Auctions.
