Walmart has partnered with a sports memorabilia company to put autographed items and other sports collectibles on its website.
Walmart.com has added nearly one million new items to its online product assortment with the launch of “Walmart Marketplace,” a new program that gives customers more choices at Walmart.com. Walmart Marketplace enables a select group of retailers to offer additional products at Walmart.com.
The company has partnered with Pro Team, a subsidiary of Dreams, Inc to provide licensed sports memorabilia and apparel. Wal-Mart.com now has over 5,000 autographed items on its website, most of which are sports related.
Walmart says it "carefully chose the specific retailers based on their strong customer service track records and large assortments of quality brands and products."
“We’ve added nearly one million new items to our online assortment with the introduction of Walmart Marketplace, making it even easier for customers to find more of what they want when shopping Walmart.com,” said Kerry Cooper, Walmart.com’s chief marketing officer. “Working with select retailers, known for their strong customer service and large online assortments of new merchandise, gives our customer more reasons to choose Walmart.com when shopping online.”
Customers can find the expanded assortment online at Walmart.com. All purchases from a Walmart Marketplace retailer are managed through Walmart.com’s secure checkout process. The Walmart Marketplace retailer will then manage and support the order, including shipping and handling, customer service, exchanges and returns.
