Cardinals’ pitcher Adam Wainwright has a new contract–with plenty of money to buy whatever he wants. But it’s not the monetary value that makes one special autographed ball one of his favorites.
Adam Wainwright has a 4 year, $15 million contract and the Opening Day assignment for the Cardinals this season.
He’s also got one special fan from Arkansas.
An older fellow named Harry Truman Moore grew up following the Cardinals and used to live across the street from former Braves’ pitcher Johnny Sain. Before he passed away, Sain gave Moore two baseballs with a special inscription.
Now the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports Moore has given one of those to Wainwright who appreciates the significance of what’s written on the surface.
