The T206 Jumbo Wagner and several other valuable baseball cards will be on display in New York Friday.
Goldin Auctions will show off the card as part of a media opportunity between 11:30 AM and 2 PM EDT at NYY Steak Manhattan (7 West 51st St).
The Wagner card is the featured item in Goldin Auctions’ Great American Trading Card Auction that runs through October 1. It last sold for $2.1 million in 2013 but the current high bid is already at $2.04 million with more than a week left in the bidding.
It’s likely the card will certainly become the first $3 million trading card and potentially sell for as much as $5 million and become the most valuable piece of sports memorabilia ever sold.
Other high-grade vintage cards on display include rookie cards of Mickey Mantle, Roberto Clemente and Hank Aaron.
Other cards Goldin will have on display include:
- 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle Rookie Card ($300,000)
- 1955 Topps #164 Roberto Clemente Rookie Card ($288,000)
- 1954 Topps #128 Hank Aaron Rookie Card ($288,000)
- Others valued at over $100,000
