For many collectors, the 1967 Topps set is approached with vigor and excitement. Unfortunately, that excitement often fades when chasing the single printed high numbers. These cards can be tough to find, especially in nice condition. The ’67 Topps issue contains key rookie cards of Tom Seaver and Rod Carew, both occurring in the high series. Add in collector’s favorites like Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Roberto Clemente, and Pete Rose making this set appealing to a wide variety of collectors.
BurlsSports.com’s Set Break of the Week is a 1967 Topps set that is largely in EX condition. This set includes 609 cards. The key cards break down as follows #150 Mickey Mantle SGC 55/4.5 VG-EX+, #200 Willie Mays SGC 45/3.5 VG+, #210 Gibson PSA 6 EX-MT, #400 Roberto Clemente PSA 5 EX, #430 Pete Rose SGC 60/5 EX, #569 Rod Carew RC SGC 60/5 EX, #581 Tom Seaver RC SGC 55/4.5 VG-EX+.
If you haven’t participated in a group break, each card in the break is sold at a fixed price, but you don’t pick the card beforehand. When all spots are sold, the cards are distributed randomly to the participants. Some will get the key cards for a fraction of their value, while others take home vintage commons for set building or trade bait. In order to ensure transparency, the randomization is broadcast live online for all participants to view.
The price for this break is set at $7 per slot and will go on sale on Friday, May 12 at 11 AM CST. To purchase slots in the break or to find out more, you can access the break page here.
