A fresh grouping of vintage unopened wax, cello and vending boxes are on the auction block this week as Collect Auctions wraps up their final auction of 2017.
The lineup includes a 1988-89 Fleer Basketball unopened wax case (current bid $18,366); a 1978 Topps Football unopened 15-box cello case with the original Topps shipping label; a 1979 Topps Football unopened rack case (also with the Topps shipping label); a 1996-97 Topps Chrome Basketball factory-sealed box (Kobe Bryant); a 1993 SP Baseball factory-sealed box (Derek Jeter); a 1975 Topps Baseball cello box; a 1993 Topps Baseball Series 1 unopened wax case (Jeter); a 1973-74 Topps Hockey vending box (BBCE) and a 1973-74 Topps Basketball vending box.
Over 800 items are in the auction catalog.
Among the highlights in the memorabilia category are: a 1936 New York Yankee team-signed baseball with Lou Gehrig alone on the sweet spot; a Roberto Clemente twice-signed 1961 program; a Michael Jordan signed 1994 game-used Birmingham Barons base; a Ty Cobb signed oversized check display; a Mickey Mantle signed Louisville Slugger bat; a single-signed Mantle baseball inscribed “HOF 74″; another ball with his full signature, a; Thurman Munson signed “Dinner with the Yankees” ticket; autographed near sets of 1956 Topps, 1986 Donruss and 1989 Upper Deck Baseball; a 1934 World Series program autographed by Babe Ruth, Mickey Cochrane and Dizzy Dean; single signed baseballs from former presidents; multiple signed items from Muhammad Ali and sports artwork by Wayne Prokopiak.
