Wheatland Auction Services’ first sale of 2023 is underway with smorgasbord of vintage and modern single cards, lots, sets, unopened, autographs and other items.
Among the more than 700 items being offered in the online catalog or mid to lower grade copies of some of the hobby’s most recognizable vintage cards including two 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth #181, a 1933 Goudey Lou Gehrig, two T206 Ty Cobb green and red portraits, a T205 Cobb and several other pre-War cards, a 1951 Bowman Willie Mays rookie card and multiple early cards of Mickey Mantle.
Vintage sets and partial sets include 1957 and ’58 Topps, 1964 Topps Stand-Ups and multiple 1970s baseball sets. There are baseball and football bulk lots from the 1950s through 1970s.
Current era offerings include a 2000 Bowman Brady RC (SGC 9), a 2020 Select Red Disco Prizm Justin Herbert RC (HGA 9.5), a 2021 Immaculate Rookies Signature Patch Ja’Marr Chase (BGS 8.5, Auto 10), a 2021 Panini Purple Prizm Justin Fields RC (PSA 9), a 2015 Panini Prizm Aaron Judge RC Autograph (BGS 9.5),a 2005 UD Rookie Premier Aaron Rodgers (BGS 9.5), a 2003 Topps Lebron James RC (PSA 9) and dozens of others.
The auction also offers some rarely seen items including a 1963 Bazooka Complete wax box with Willie Mays, Topps Test issues like the a checklist from the 1968 Topps Plaks set featuring Mays, Hank Aaron and Pete Rose, a selection of 1965 Topps Push-Pull cards including Mantle/Charles Lindbergh/Queen Elizabeth, 1962 Topps Stamps – graded & ungraded with Mantle/Mays/Koufax/Clemente and others and a 1989 Yugoslavia Basketball Set w. Dr. J/Larry Bird/Magic Johnson.
Among the memorabilia lots are a selection of autographed baseballs from Mantle, Mays, Koufax, Aaron, Ken Griffey Jr, and others along with various signed bats, jerseys, helmets and other memorabilia. Other items carrying signatures from Pele, Ted Williams, Mike Tyson and Shaquille O’Neal are also part of the sale.
