Over 570 lots of sports cards, autographs and memorabilia are on the block this weekend through Wheatland Auction Services.
The Pennsylvania auction company’s latest sale runs the gamut with everything from T206 cards to modern era certified autographs up for grabs through Sunday night.
Among the highlights are over 20 lots of T206 cards including several Hall of Famers, topped by a green portrait Ty Cobb and a dark cap Christy Mathewson; several 1950s Callahan Hall of Famers including several rarities; a 1970 Topps Super Football uncut proof sheet, a pair of event-worn Mickey Mantle pants from the late 1980s and a multi-signed baseball that includes Babe Ruth on the sweet spot.
As usual, Wheatland’s online catalog includes dozens of vintage card lots and sets dating back decades as well as individual star cards and rare issues. The auction includes three graded Nolan Ryan rookie cards, a large selection of Mantle cards, rookie cards of Jim Brown, Pete Rose, Tom Seaver, Bob Gibson, Johnny Bench and dozens of others.
The past mixes with the present with a Historic Autographs quad signature card featuring cuts signed by Babe Ruth, Joe McCarthy, Earle Combs and Ben Chapman.
In addition to the Ruth signed ball, the auction also includes a Michael Jordan signed baseball (UDA); a Steph Curry signed jersey, signed footballs from Johnny Unitas and Jim Brown, a pair of rare Pittsburgh Pirates pennants and a PSA authenticated 1951 World Series full ticket.
The non-sport section is highlighted by a high-grade third series 1964 Beatles set with the original vending box and pre-War English cigarette cards.
The auction will close Sunday, September 9 beginning at 7 PM Eastern time at WheatlandAuctionServices.com.
