U.S. Soccer and the U.S. National Soccer Team Players Association are holding an auction of game-issued, autographed jerseys from last week’s World Cup qualifying match against Costa Rica, with all proceeds to benefit the American Red Cross’ Hurricane Harvey relief efforts in Houston and other impacted areas.
All 23 players’ jerseys are in the auction, which is live on the US Soccer website through Wednesday, September 6.
Top bids so far have been for the jerseys donned by Christian Pulisic and Clint Dempsey.
The team does have ties to Houston as defender DaMarcus Beasley is currently in his fourth season with the Houston Dynamo and forward Clint Dempsey grew up in Nacogdoches, Texas, and has family in the Houston area.
The USMNT lost to Costa Rica 2-0 but remains alive for a berth in the 2018 World Cup ahead of Tuesday night’s game against Honduras.
