Expansion teams don’t usually make the playoffs, let alone a run at a championship, but the newest National Hockey League team is doing just that. A huge hit in Las Vegas where fans have embraced all kinds of memorabilia, they’re getting their own boxed trading card set.
Upper Deck is producing a special boxed set commemorating the Vegas Golden Knights inaugural season. It’s a different issue than the 20-card issue created earlier this season and distributed through hobby shop promotional packs.
Each box of Vegas Golden Knights trading cards will contain a 50-card base set along with five randomly inserted “Golden Parallels.” Cards carrying autographs will also be found at a rate of about 1 in every 20 boxes. Marc-Andre Fleury and James Neal are among those whose signatures will be found on the autograph checklist.
The base set will include 35 cards, one for each player from the 2017-18 roster along with 15 highlight cards showcasing memorable moments from the team’s inaugural season.
Boxes are priced at $29.99 and can be pre-ordered here.
The Knights are currently playing the Winnipeg Jets in the NHL Western Conference Final.
