It won’t be available for long, but Upper Deck has released a new NFL rookie focused product through its e-Pack platform. 2021 Rookie Watch Football includes cards of Trevor Lawrence, Trey Lance and Mac Jones. The eight card base checklist also includes notable names like DeVonta Smith, Najee Harris and Jaylen Waddle.
“We’re excited to offer collectors a throwback Upper Deck trading card set that exclusively features some of the best rookies in football,” said Upper Deck’s Sports Brand Manager, Paul Zickler. “Every player featured in 2021 Rookie Watch Football is a first-round pick, including the first five quarterbacks taken in the professional draft.”
Lawrence famously went undefeated as a freshman at Clemson and went on to become the NFL’s number one overall pick last April. Smith won the 2020 Heisman Trophy while Jones, Harris and Waddle were all part of last season’s Alabama championship team. Lance was the third overall pick.
Packs containing one card are $9.99 at UpperDeckEpack.com and will be available through Thursday, September 16. Gold Parallel bonus cards are also in the mix, falling at a rate of one per every ten packs on average.
While packs are digital and can be opened and cards traded online, collectors will be able to get the physical versions of the cards shipped to them in about 6-8 weeks once they are printed.
Additional “Achievement” cards of Lawrence can be acquired by completing the eight-card base set and/or the Gold Parallel set.
