The 2019 National Sports Collectors Convention will kick off in one month and the trading card companies will once again be corporate sponsors of this year’s event in Chicago.
Upper Deck is creating some exclusive cards for the show as part of a multi-tiered presence. The company will once again produce a five card set that will be part of VIP bags handed out at the show. The cards feature athletes who are under contract to Upper Deck including Tiger Woods, Connor McDavid, Ben Simmons, Deandre Ayton and Serena Williams.
Special NSCC exclusive Prominent Cuts packs will be at the heart of the company’s wrapper redemption program. Products purchased through Certified Diamond Dealers that are brought to Upper Deck’s booth in the corporate pavilion will earn those packs, which will include a variety of content including some Top Shelf NHL rookie cards, both signed and unsigned.
The company will conduct daily raffles at its booth, some of which will be good for spots in special case breaks taking place on the main stage of the show.
Upper Deck’s Monumental autograph box promotion will be back with boxes of five different Upper Deck Authenticated items sold at the show for $1,000 plus tax. “Hot boxes” will contain all five items signed by Upper Deck exclusive athletes including Michael Jordan.
Collectors can earn an invitation to the company’s exclusive Diamond Club Reception on Friday night by purchasing a certain level of product, with an athlete in attendance for a greet-and-sign session.
The National Sports Collectors Convention takes place at the Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL from July 31-August 4.
