The University of Washington will renovate the long time home of its football team beginning after the last home game next month and they’re almost ready to sell off some of the memorabilia. The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will host an online sale featuring select items used throughout the tenure of Husky Stadium.
The sale begins at 6 p.m. PT on Wed., Oct. 19, and closes at 8 p.m. PT on Wed. Nov. 2.
Items for sale include vintage seats, stadium signage, sideline benches and game-worn jerseys.
You’ll have to know someone nearby, though. All purchased items must be picked up from Husky Stadium between 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, November 6. All sales are final, and the purchasers are responsible for picking up and transporting their items.
“We have heard from a lot of fans who hope to collect a piece of Husky Stadium before it is renovated,” Chip Lydum, Associate AD for Operations and Capital Projects, said. “We have worked diligently to make as many items available as possible, and we are excited to be able to offer these collectibles to our fans.”
Fans can navigate to the sale through GoHuskies.com, or visit the direct site: www.GoHuskies.com/stadiumsale.
Ground breaking on the Husky Stadium Renovation will take place Nov. 7. The Huskies will play their final home game of the 2011 season at CenturyLink Field on Nov. 26, when they host Washington State.
The school also reports that for questions, call 206-221-8544, or e-mail [email protected].
