A collector’s stash of dozens of uncut sheets from Topps products of the past are among hundreds of items now up for grabs in Wheatland Auctions’ Vintage Sports Card and Memorabilia online catalog.
The collection includes semi-high and high number sheets from the 1970 Topps baseball set, a super scarce 1972 Topps Third Series football sheet, multiple sheets of 1974, ’75, ’82 and ’83 Topps baseball and numerous others. The 1970 high number sheet includes Nolan Ryan and Johnny Bench while other sheets carry rookie cards of Dave Winfield, George Brett and Robin Yount.
The last Wheatland auction included a complete and very rare 1971-72 Topps basketball unopened box and the current sale continues the run with a partial box of seven packs and a display box from the same issue as well as a complete 1972 Topps football Series 2 box and several unopened vending boxes from the early to mid-1980s.
There are dozens of premier rookie cards including 1958 Topps Roger Maris, 1963 Topps Pete Rose, 1957 Topps Don Drysdale (SGC 86), 1948 Bowman Stan Musial, 1969 Topps Reggie Jackson, 1957 Topps Johnny Unitas and Bart Starr, 1969-70 Topps Lew Alcindor and 1970-71 Topps Pete Maravich, among others. Complete sets, partial sets and huge accumulations are among hundreds of vintage card lots dating from the T206 era to the 1980s. Collectors of recent issues will find numerous lots containing popular autograph and relic cards.
Memorabilia up for bid includes a collection of 1960s and 70s bobbleheads including early Expos and Brewers figures. All are being sold individually.
Autograph collectors will find a framed Perez-Steele postcard piece that includes authenticated autographs of Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams and Mickey Mantle, Hall of Fame postcards, baseballs, two Muhammad Ali items, a Hank Aaron Milwaukee Braves style jersey, a Wayne Gretzky Phoenix Coyotes autographed jersey, a Jim Brown helmet and other items.
