The Ty Cobb Museum’s special baseball cards have been a hit with patrons and collectors and the 2019 edition has been released.
The cards are issued each year as a fundraiser for the museum. This year’s edition was unveiled at the museum in Cobb’s hometown of Royston, GA last Saturday. Hank Aaron Jr. was on hand for the event.
Cards are still available for $9.29. You can contact the museum via its website.
They also created ten bat shavings relic cards from a Cobb game bat which had been cut into relic pieces by a collectible company in 2000. Those cards sold out within three hours of release on Saturday at $75 each. Five serial-numbered mini versions of the regular card were also sold.
The cards were created to mark the 100th anniversary of the last of Cobb’s American League batting titles.
