Keeping with tradition, there will be a 2012 Topps Update Series again this fall. Set to release just as the 2012 regular season is wrapping up, Update will feature all of the roster moves that took place since early spring, rookie call-ups, and 2012 MLB All-Star Game participants.
There will be one autograph or relic card per hobby box (36 packs/10 cards) and one autograph and two relics per HTA jumbo box of 10 packs (42 cards).

The ‘gold’ theme continues with Topps bringing in a new Gold Hall of Fame Plaques as part of Update. The 15-card set replicates the player’s Cooperstown plaque and includes Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Jackie Robinson and others.
Blockbusters, a 30-card set will be centered around some of the major free agent signings and trades in baseball history.
The big chase card will be the one of one Solid Gold Futures cards that will include a piece of actual gold. There will be only four different players featured.
