The 2018 edition of a holiday-oriented hobby shop incentive program is back. Collectors who visit participating stores beginning November 16 can pick up a free pack of 2018 Topps Holiday baseball cards with the purchase of at least $10 worth of the company’s current products.
In announcing the program to hobby shops and distributors Tuesday, Topps stated that 2018 “has been one of the best years for baseball card sales in company history.” They’re distributing packs to shop owners at no charge.
The packs will feature cards that are holiday-themed parallels of players featured in 2018 Bowman issues including some of this year’s rookies and top young players. You can see some sample images below.
Last year, packs held three cards with low-numbered parallels and autographed cards randomly inserted.
Topps will be pushing shops to promote the contest on their social media channels—and they’re also telling shop owners who receive the packs not to sell them on the secondary market or they’ll be kicked out of future promotions.
A checklist for 2017 Topps Holiday baseball will be released at a later date along with a list of sports card shops participating in the promotion.
