Topps is creating a spinoff of its most expensive and limited product. 2020 Topps Transcendent Hall of Fame Edition is scheduled to release in May.
Typically costing $20,000 to $25,000, Transcendent offers a large batch of autographed and low serial-numbered cards along with an invitation to a gathering with special baseball guests who are yet to be named. Only 50 cases will be produced—half the number of the standard 2019 edition that came out in November.
Each box will have at least 40 autographed cards, all numbered to no more than 25 and at least two of them 1/1 parallels.
Each box of 2020 Transcendent Hall of Fame includes two 50-card sets; one called Hall of Fame Icons and another called Sketch Reproductions. Each will be numbered to 50. Each set of Hall of Fame Icons will be printed on what Topps calls “a premium 2020 Transcendent design.”
Every box will have 40 autograph cards, all numbered to 25 or less with at least two 1/1 parallels.
Among those autograph cards will be cut signature cards including autographs from Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Cy Young, Honus Wagner, Jackie Robinson and other deceased Hall of Famers.
HOF Induction Class Cut Signatures will include four autographs in one oversized card from marquee Hall of Fame classes such as:
1936 Class – Cobb/Johnson/Ruth/Wagner
1937 Class – Drysdale/Ferrell/Killebrew/Reese
1962 Class – Feller/McKechnie/Robinson/Roush
1955 Class – DiMaggio/Hartnett/Lyons/Vance
Autograph cards will include:
Transcendent Collection Autographs – (#’d to 25) with parallels numbered to 5 and 1. There will be image variations for each with the same parallels.
Sandy Koufax Through the Years Autographs – (#’d 1-of-1). Created with inspiration from past Topps designs, the cards will highlight Koufax’s Dodgers career.
1954 Topps SuperFractor Autographs – (#’d 1-of-1). A checklist of 50 players designed like the 1954 Topps cards but with the SuperFractor look.
Also among the insert cards will be PSA graded card of a Hall of Famer from a previous Topps release.
