It’s one of those things Fanatics alluded to when the company acquired Topps two years ago: the opportunity to meld baseball cards with the other elements in Fanatics’ wide-reaching business.
A week ahead of the official release of 2024 Topps Series 1 Baseball, collectors who found blaster boxes for sale on Fanatics’ website noticed a new promotion that offers randomly inserted redemption cards good for a piece of signed baseball memorabilia.
Those $29.99 value boxes are exclusive to Fanatics’ website. You won’t find them in boxes found at other locations.
According to a picture of one of the redemption cards, collectors who pull one will go to a special website that will be in place and enter the code from the card to generate the redemption. An autographed Adley Rutschman baseball is pictured, but presumably there will be signed memorabilia from other athletes under contract to Fanatics and other types of items in the mix. Fanatics has yet to officially announce the promotion.
Fanatics blasters will hold nine Series 1 packs (other blasters have seven). Each pack will hold 12 cards: ten base, one ‘Stars of MLB’ insert card and one Aqua parallel that is also exclusive to boxes sold via Fanatics.
The release date for 2024 Topps Hobby boxes is Feb. 14.
Fanatics is offering free shipping on the blaster boxes. They’re available on the company’s website until sold out.
