Topps has unveiled the design and some details on its wrapper redemption set, an annual special promotion for the 2017 National Sports Collectors Convention. A full checklist is below.
Collectors who purchase and open Topps baseball boxes at the company’s booth in Chicago will receive a free four-card pack. The base set will include 50 cards but there will be some autographs randomly inserted as well as low-numbered parallels including Gold Refractors numbered to 50 and 1/1 Black Refractors.
The cards will be Bowman branded to coincide with the brand’s 70th anniversary. They’ll be printed on chrome stock with a prism foil pattern background. You can see a sampling of cards below.
The checklist will include prospects, veterans and retired players. Rookie sensations Aaron Judge and Cody Bellinger are included as well as past greats like Derek Jeter and Sandy Koufax.
Collectors will receive one pack for each hobby box opened in front of an employee at the Topps booth. All Topps 2017 baseball hobby boxes are included in the program except Topps Opening Day, MLB Sticker Collection, and Topps Bunt. 2017 Topps UFC Knockout and 2017 Topps MLS hobby boxes can also be used as part of the wrapper redemption program.
