The Topps Company, Inc., the exclusive producer of Major League Baseball trading cards, has expanded its commitment to The Industry Summit, a trade event for those involved in the sports collectibles industry.
Under the agreement, Topps will host a Topps Retailing for Success Seminar on Monday, March 19, the first day of the conference. The event will include a question-and-answer session with executives from Topps, as well as exclusive previews of Topps’ upcoming products and special presentations from Topps’ licensing and retailing partners.
“The Summit is the premiere trade event in our industry, and it’s appropriate that Topps continues to enhance its strong leadership position at this important gathering,” said David Reel, Topps Director of Hobby Sales. “Our team is committed to creating a memorable and valuable experience for everyone who attends the 2012 Summit.”
In addition to its Day 1 presentation, Topps plans to create a special gift for every HTA (Home Team Advantage) retail store operator who registers for the Summit on or before Feb 1, 2012.
Meanwhile, Leaf Trading Cards has promised to deliver something exclusively for individuals who attend the Summit.
CEO Brian Gray said the as-yet-unnamed product – featuring autographs from across Leaf’s sports and pop culture inventory – will be allocated on a “1-per-Summit-registrant basis.’’ Even the company’s master distributors will be limited to the same “1-per-registrant’’ allocation.
The exclusive release will be a centerpiece of the Dallas-based manufacturer’s presence at the annual industry trade conference, scheduled March 18-21 at The Orleans Hotel & Casino. Leaf will also create a Corporate Home Base display and will address attendees during the Corporate Showcase.
Additional details on Leaf’s Summit exclusive product will be released in early February.
