Cue the NFL Films music. 2012 Topps Valor is being unveiled as an ode to the idea of football players as courageous warriors. After teasing the product this summer, the company released plans for its newest brand on Monday, distributing images, a preliminary checklist and dealer costs on the issue, some four months before it will be released to the hobby.
Highlighted by three on card autographs per pack, Valor also offers plenty of parallels but instead of colors, they’ll be labeled by the traits of someone who exudes a lot of …well..valor. Speed, Strength, Discipline, Heart, Courage, Honor and such will be the names collectors will be getting used to.
Packs will contain six cards; two rookie autographs, one veteran or retired autograph, one rookie patch relic and two base cards. Dealer cost will be around $135-140.
The rookie autos are broken into Legendary and Valor versions with the aforementioned parallels popping at 1/1 to 1/70 ratios.
Valor and Glory Autographed Rookie Patches will fall one per case.
There will be ‘Alliance’ dual, triple and quad multi-autograph cards. Duals will be numbered to 10. Triples will feature players from the same team and also be numbered to 10 while the quad relics will feature four teammates and be numbered to just five.
2012 Topps Valor is scheduled to be released the week of January 21, 2013. Check out the preview images, checklist and sell sheet below.
