The third edition of Topps’ “Hobby Rip Night” brought extra customers into over 600 hobby shops around the world on Saturday.
While most had pack giveaways, raffles and other promotional events, shops in larger metropolitan areas welcomed current and former athletes.
Tom Brady showed up at the last Rip Night back in February. This time he was at Triple Cards in the Dallas area.
Now an in-game analyst for Fox Sports, Brady was in town ahead of Sunday’s Cowboys-Saints game.
Boomtown Sports Cards in San Antonio had the biggest guest–literally and figuratively.
KSAT-TV was there:
In St. Louis, Restless Craft Breakers hosted a Hall of Famer…
It was amazing having Ted Simmons at the shop. He stayed more than an hour and opened packs, gave away cards, took pictures, and made our event amazing. Thank you Topps for bringing him in. #topps #RIPNIGHT #hobbyripnight pic.twitter.com/VXgckKFeXN

Scoot Henderson stopped by Hoody’s in Portland and Anthony Volpe and Nestor Cortes of the Yankees were at Bleecker Trading.
At Duck’s Dugout in Georgia, Ronald Acuna Jr. and Austin Riley appeared while Spencer Strider met collectors at Giant Sports Cards.
The look on this little girl’s face when Austin Riley hands her a pack of Topps baseball cards and then gives her a fist bump (or a cast bump)!
