Topps is creating a monthly subscription to its products, aimed primarily at young collectors, but including a monthly five-card set that might interest adults, too. Kids might have to ask mom and dad for a healthy allowance advance or hope to get a subscription as a nice gift, though.
Each month for $24.99, subscribers will receive a box of cards (for April, it’s a blaster box of Topps Opening Day) along with a special five-card Future Stars Club set with a particular theme. For April, it’s lefthanded power hitting outfielders including Bryce Harper, who is acting as the “ambassador” for the project through his endorsement with Topps. Also included will be another collectible item such as a sticker.
In May, collectors will receive a new five-card set along with a hobby box of 2020 Topps Big League along with the bonus item and in June, it’ll be a third five-card set along with a Series II blaster box and a collectible item to be determined.
Interestingly, the five-card set is kind of a throwback with the card stock and design appearing to be typical of what Topps used prior to 1992.
Topps is asking for a one-year commitment but there is a cancellation policy in place as well.
To receive the April Future Stars Club product, you must be subscribed on or before April 30.
