Make way for yet another baseball trading card product next spring when 2016 Topps Legacies of Baseball makes its debut with a focus on cards made of metal.
Legacies will be the first of its kind to debut Topps Vault photography on a metal trading card. Featuring a polished aluminum technology, one card from the 50-subject Vault Metals insert set will be in each pack with sequentially numbered purple, red (# to 25) and black (1/1) logo parallel cards randomly inserted. A full checklist is below.
Boxes of Topps Legacies of Baseball, expected to cost around $150-$160 at retail, will also include three other cards, two of which will be autographed. The signed cards will fall under four subsets: Tenacity, Tradition, Loyalty and Exhileration and include:
- Green Parallel: sequentially numbered.
- Purple Parallel: sequentially numbered.
- Red Parallel: sequentially numbered to 5.
- Black Parallel: numbered 1/1.
In addition to the two autographed cards guaranteed per box, Topps Legacies of Baseball will also guarantee one insert card numbered 99 or less.
Lasting Imprints cards will be numbered and feature the best players of all-time. Imminent Arrivals will showcase the top ten rookies eligible for inclusion in 2016 sets including Kyle Schwarber, Miguel Sano, Aaron Nola and others.
Parallels for both inserts will include:
- Purple Parallel: sequentially numbered.
- Red Parallel: sequentially numbered to 5.
- Black Parallel: numbered 1/1.
Autographed versions of each insert are also planned.
Other content will include Legacies Book Cards, vertically oriented 2-panel book cards showcasing on-card signatures with jumbo-sized jersey pieces.
The release date for 2016 Topps Legacies of Baseball is March 30. It will be a hobby shop exclusive but you can see what’s available on eBay here.
