His face—and autograph—have been inside their Bowman prospect cards for a couple of years now but on Friday, Topps announced the dates in which you can look for Kris Bryant rookie cards in 2015. Since a player can’t have an ‘official’ rookie card until he actually plays in a big league game, Bryant’s first cards carrying the ‘RC’ logo won’t appear until this summer.
His first official rookie cards will be in 2015 Topps Series II (see the card at left) and Archives, both due out in June. Look for autographs in Stadium Club, Allen and Ginter and Topps Chrome during July and August.
Before that, Bryant’s cards will be in 2015 Bowman Baseball, due out at the end of this month. Bryant will have a prospect base card, inserts and autographed inserts.
2015 Tier One Baseball, releasing May 20, will have redemptions for an autographed Bryant card randomly packed.
Bryant will appear in Finest Baseball as card No. 111, one of the short-printed base cards, and is scheduled to release June 3. Bryant will also have an autographed rookie card in the set.
While his big league career started with three strikeouts, Bryant captured national attention during Spring Training when he hit 17-for-40 (.425), with nine home runs and driving in 15 runners. While in the Minors this season, he launched another three home runs and added 10 RBI in 28 at-bats in just seven games.
