Topps unveiled the selections for its 2021 Topps Rookie Cup team on MLB Network Monday morning. Cards for rookie-eligible players that are selected for the team will include the Rookie Cup trophy image displayed on their Series 1 or Series 2 base card in the following year.
The first ever Topps All-Star Rookie Team was first selected in 1959, which include Hall of Famer Willie McCovey at first base. Over the past 60 years, notable recipients have included Joe Torre, Tony Perez, Tom Seaver, Thurman Munson, Eddie Murray, Ozzie Smith, Cal Ripken, Daryl Strawberry, Ken Griffey Jr., Chipper Jones, Derek Jeter, Kerry Wood, CC Sabathia, Justin Verlander, George Springer and Shohei Ohtani.
