Is Tom Brady about to launch his own line of trading cards? He is if you put any stock in a recent trademark filing.
As first uncovered by trademark attorney Josh Gerben of Gerben Law in Washington, D.C., Brady’s company, TEB Capital, filed for new “Tom Terrific” trademarks last week. One of those applications is for “collectible trading cards, sports trading cards, posters and printed photographs.” The company also filed an application to use the same name on a line of shirts.
According to Gerben, that means the company is intending to use the “Tom Terrific” name for a line of cards.
Tom Brady’s company (TEB Capital Management Inc.) has filed two new trademarks for “TOM TERRIFIC.”
The filings indicate the company is planning to launch a line of “TOM TERRIFIC” trading cards and apparel soon.

Of course, long-time sports fans will remember New York Mets pitcher Tom Seaver’s nickname was also Tom Terrific, but it would appear Seaver never trademarked that moniker, which was given to him.
The nickname has appeared in association with Brady on some artwork and on some Panini football cards in recent years as well but his company is now planning to make sure he owns the rights to use it on collectibles and apparel.
