At the ripe age of 42, Tom Brady continues to consistently win football games for his New England Patriots and, accordingly to a recent press release from the NFL Player’s Association, he continues to push serious volumes of merchandise.
The Patriots quarterback, now in his 20th season in the league, topped the NFLPA’s player retail sales list, surrounded by some other names that are familiar to sports collectors and dealers.
The list includes sales of all officially licensed NFL player merchandise through the preseason (March 1 to Aug. 31), which is the most comprehensive set of data available.
Player-identified merchandise includes categories like T-shirts, hoodies, backpacks, wall decals, pennants, collectible figurines, photos, bobbleheads and other licensed material.
However, the list is also significant to football card, autograph and memorabilia dealers and collectors as it usually provides an accurate barometer on market demand.

This is Brady’s seventh time topping the list in his career, which is unprecedented territory for any player. He has been named the year-end retail king twice and has 16 appearances in the top three since the list was created.

Patrick Mahomes, Baker Mayfield and Odell Beckham Jr. were below Brady on the list respectively while Chicago Bears linebacker Khalil Mack represented the other side of the football admirably by landing in the number five slot.
Brady wasn’t the only steely veteran in the mix as Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers rang in at seventh on the list.
Phillip Lindsay (running back, Denver Broncos), Kyler Murray (quarterback, Arizona Cardinals) and Dwayne Haskins (quarterback, Washington Redskins) made their debut on the list. The Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets were most represented on the list with four players each.
Several players made big jumps from the preseason rankings, including Mahomes (from No. 6 to No. 2), JuJu Smith-Schuster (up 16 spots to No. 9), Lamar Jackson (up 15 spots to No. 26), Leighton Vander Esch (up 14 spots to No. 35) and Adam Thielen (up 12 spots to No. 16).
