When you live in snow country, baseball season can seem like a long way away.
That’s when being a collector can come in handy. Grab a book or box of cards, a binder of autographed photos or a piece of game-used or game-worn gear and suddenly summer is here.
Kent Ailsworth lives near the eastern shore of Lake Michigan. He’s a huge Tigers fan but also a baseball historian who has written articles on names from the past for the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR).
He’s got an impressive collection of cards, including pre-War material, Negro Leagues memorabilia and some stadium relics.
