They’re not alone on the PGA Tour, but golf’s two big stars would rather have a root canal than sign a golf ball.
They’re small. Dimpled. Hard to authenticate.
Golf balls were meant to be hit with a club, not autographed if you believe the pro golfers who are most often the ones asked to sign them.
Many players are generous with in person autograph requests, including Phil Mickelson. Even Tiger Woods will sometimes sign if the crowds aren’t huge. But each has a ‘no golf balls’ policy. Mickelson’s reason is partly based on creating a sweet little nest egg for his youngsters.
