Some believe it’ll take a few more really good years for Jim Thome to reach the Baseball Hall of Fame. But he’s already a part of it.
The White Sox homer-hitting veteran made good on his promise to personally present his 500th home run ball to the Hall on Thursday. The Peoria, Illinois native and his father Chuck used a Sox off day to visit Cooperstown and hand over the milestone ball to the museum curator.
He also got a private tour of some of the historic baseball memorabilia that’s stashed away. Both he and his father were a little overwhelmed.
