A wildfire ripped through her small Northern California town but a young girl who loved baseball–and baseball cards–is bouncing back.
It’s been two months since Reese Osterberg and her family lost nearly everything, including her small card collection. Thanks to local first responders and media, the word spread and the cards came pouring in from well meaning folks all over the country–enough for her and her baseball-minded friends, too– but soon there were far too many, especially for a family that’s still without a home.
Reese, her family and others have decided to spread the good will by giving away thousands of cards to other kids who would like them. She even has her own website devoted to that purpose and more.
Mike Oz of Yahoo Sports has details on what’s become a great holiday story that’s worth your time and attention.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
