Long-time vintage card dealer Barry Sloate’s recent auction included one of the hobby’s cardboard icons.
T206 baseball cards continue to be strong in terms of interest and sale prices. A T206 Eddie Plank graded 40 (VG) by SGC, sold for $39,704 late last week. The price was similar to that raised by a PSA 3 Plank sold in another auction last month.
The Sloate auction included several individual and groupings of cards from a recent find we detailed earlier.
The Plank was the highlight of the cards offered. It nosed out an 1872 Cincinnati Red Stockings historical photo display piece once owned by club founder Harry Wright that brought $38,685.
Other highlights included:
- T205 Ty Cobb graded PSA 7 $15,288
- T3 Christy Mathewson SGC 60 $11,206
- T200 Fatima set of 16 $10,187
