It’s been a long run of mediocrity—or worse—for Cleveland Browns fans. Now, one memorabilia company is hoping to ease the pain some fans may be feeling after another year of missed playoffs.
The Browns have had 24 different starting quarterbacks over the last 17 years while teams like the Packers and Patriots have needed only two or three. If you own an autograph from any one of them—as long as it’s authenticated—you can trade it for a $100 gift card from Steiner Sports.
The company unveiled the unique promotion on Thursday. Your Browns QB autograph can be on jut about anything, including cards or photos, as long as it has documentation from Steiner, Fanatics Authentic, Panini Authentic, JSA, PSA/DNA, TRISTAR Productions, Topps or Upper Deck Authenticated. The company says all other items will be returned.
The list of Browns quarterbacks you can swap dates back to the promise of Tim Couch in 1999 and also includes Ty Detmer, Doug Pederson, Spergon Wynn, Kelly Holcomb, Trent Dilfer, Charlie Frye, Derek Anderson, Brady Quinn, Ken Dorsey, Bruce Gradkowski, Jeff Garcia, Colt McCoy, Jake Delhomme, Seneca Wallace, Brandon Weeden, Thad Lewis, Jason Campbell, Brian Hoyer and this year’s quartet of, Johnny Manziel, Connor Shaw, Josh McCown and Austin Davis.
The promotion runs for a couple of weeks.
